What makes a good coach
A coach is an individual that supports their learner to achieve a certain personal or professional goal and they do this by providing training and guidance. What makes a good coach is a coach that is able to deliver, communicate and understand what a learner needs to improve on and also to guide the learner to self-reflect on themselves. A good example of a great football coach would Jürgen Klopp the manager of Liverpool FC. When he first arrived at Liverpool, they were a team that was nearing mid-table than being on the top. Klopp came in with his experience from Borussia Dortmund his previous club. Klopp was patient with the team he started off with as they were not the greatest but with the resources he had, he used them to build a philosophy for the team. He bought different types of players that he kept an eye on throughout the years that will fit his philosophy. This is called a re-build. For him to do a re-build he would have to get rid of players that would not fit the criteria of his playing style and those players would get replaced with those that can. The players he kept he trained them and while he was developing those players, he was able to create playing style that’s comfortable for the team. Roberto firmino is an example of a player Klopp developed and made him into a world class player. Klopp bought in a new style off football where he got his full backs to play as attacking players and his striker to play more of a playmaker role rather than getting goals which worked and this pushed Liverpool to become the team they once was and that’s winning matches and competitions. Through my experience of football, I have had good coaches and bad coaches and I believe the good coaches I have had where able to understand me and also able to see how much potential I have as a footballer.
What makes a good football club?
A good football team is club that has success in competitions and also on the business side. For a club to gain recognition is by going up leagues and also promotion in the community can help as that can be a source of income for maybe the lower teams because they will not get as much backing from the FA. So even a local Sunday team can become as big as a premier league team but it will take them a large amount of years because they will need to go up divisions, meet semi pro requirements in terms of stadiums and seats so decent fan base with the backing of fund will support that. At a semi-professional level there’s about 4-5 stages till you can reach a professional stage of a club and that as well you’ll need to reach certain requirements. So how can you make a good football club. Firstly, you’ll need players from 15-20 in the first team and it’s also beneficial if the players are good. A good football managers coaches and good sports directors will be very useful for a club. The money a club has the better facilities they can invest in. An example of a good football club can be FC Barcelona because for the last decade they have been top 5 teams in Europe which is an incredible achievement and takes big heights to reach. This is because the club is so well run firstly, they will have great players from Ronaldinho, henry to Xavi, instead to Messi and Suarez. The club each year will always make sure the team has the most professional players and will do whatever to get those players. Need to also take in consideration that they have a very good academy which they also produce very good young talent. They are a club with expectations and that they will find solutions with either new players, new staff or even new tactic to make sure they stay at the top. FC Barcelona bought in an amazing style of football player called tika taka which is them make triangles on the pitch around a player and they will pass it around the players and this keeps possession for them and also create space for them to score goals I will leave YouTube link down below to see how beautiful the play is.
What is Talent ID?
What is talent ID? Firstly, what is talent and I believe talent is an inborn skill or a special ability that someone has attained that they can do. Talent identification is acknowledging the potential of someone talent and seeing that they can become better over time for example Marcus Rashford a football player that is talented and has the ability to eventually make him one of the best players in the world if he fulfils his potential. Next is understand what talent development is to make and motivate some to perform and improve on their talent and by doing that they could set them up goals and objects by following specific strategies so that they can reach achievements. I believe depending on the skill you can be either born with a talent or you can gain a talent through life if you work hard enough and also your approach to it will be your biggest aspect in it. Being able to identify a talent is easy but developing a talent is very hard because if you do not do it right then this can cause problems such as a decline and an example of player that had lots of talent but heavily declined would be robihno who was a great footballer with the potential to be the best but because his talent was nor rightly developed this ended making him to have a decline and to not be as good as he could of have been. When you develop a talent properly then it will come with a lot of achievements and a player that has succeeded this is Lionel Messi because from his young age people identified his talent and then he developed it so well that he has been one of the best players in the last decade.
Drugs in Sport?
Drugs is a big factor in sport that can have a big impact on athletes. Some drugs are illegal to be used in competitive competitions and usually in professional sports drugs tests take place pretty often. They’re different types of drugs. There is performance enhancing drugs called stimulants, steroids and diuretics. Stimulants are drugs that work to speed up parts of the brain and body and these would usually ne nicotine and caffeine which you can find in cigarettes, energy drinks, coffee and more. You can get caffeine in pills. There also other drugs that are stimulants like cocaine, ecstasy and meth. Steroids are drugs that help athletes increase in muscle size and strength but do come with a big side effect. These drugs have a big effect on testosterone. The final set of drugs is diuretics and these help with things such as weight loss and they usually do this by increasing the production of urination there is also laxatives that speed up production of waste and this is what makes athletes lose weight. The drugs in sport is a serious issue in sport because this gives people advantages against those that have worked hard to reach their level. It makes competition not fair and that is a big issue in world sport. There has been an instance involving Diego Maradona who is known as one of the greatest footballers in history for taking cocaine and its said that that is one of the reasons why he became such a great footballer because he was under the influence of drugs and those days drug tests where not taken as serious so footballers would take drugs freely and not get caught. Now a day’s tests occur more often and if caught there can be serious sanctions to the player and club
Goal Setting
Goal setting in sport is what I believe gives a person hope if its realistic. Goal setting can help you reach what you dream of becoming. When you set yourself a goal then you are motivating yourself to achieve, your motivating yourself to do better and if you work hard enough then you will reach your goal. It does not matter what goal you set, it could be short term or long term but if you work hard to attain it then you will succeed. Also, once you set yourself a goal if you want to aim for bigger heights then you can set yourself another goal and try and achieve that one. To set a goal you will need to have a type of goal, then have short term goals that will eventually lead you to achieve the long-term goal. So, me my goal is for me to make it at least to semi-professional football so that will be my long-term goal. I will set myself short term goals such as firstly work on my fitness and to gain confidence. Another goal for is to join an amateur team and to work hard to improve my ability so that I can get recognised or be able to sign for a semi pro football team. I will put a time frame for these goals, and I expect myself to play semi pro in the next 2 years and hopefully then I will achieve my goal and if I do then I will aim to reach higher stages. The other aims for is that I stay focused in university and aim to get a degree as well.
